My mom denies that I was born with a camera in my hands, but I think she's just repressed the memory.
My name is Teryn and I am a photographer. I shoot landscape- urban and wild- and sometimes, when the mood hits just right, life. After a brief and tempestuous affair with digital photography, I returned to the unwavering loyalty of film. I use (among others) a Leica M6, Hasselblad 503CW, Rolleicord, and LOMO. Picking a favourite would be like loving one child more that the rest (meaning I have one but won't tell you).
After a few years apart, and some very strict boundaries set by our therapist, digital photography and I are doing quite well. We've agreed that landscape=film, people (mostly)=digital.
I live in the inimitable Canadian Rockies, minutes away from some of the most legendary wilds in the world. My goal is to create photos that make the viewer want to forge a connection with the environment, or the person in the photo feel like they are a part of the earth.
